At present, we have four infant classes although only three year groups. The government requires that the maximum class size in the infants should be 30. As we accept 34 children each year, this means that we have to have mixed-age classes in Key Stage 1. We have an extra member of the teaching staff plus teaching assistant and split three year groups into four classes. One of the advantages of this arrangement is that it means we can have smaller classes in the Infants. The classes in Foundation/Key Stage 1 are called: Lions (foundation), Tigers (foundation / year 1), Jaguars (years 1 / 2), Panthers (years 1/2).
In Key Stage 2 we have one class per year group. In Key Stage 2 the classes are called: Chameleons (year 3), year 4, year 5, year 6.
